day 1

weighed myself today for the first time in many weeks: 224.4. That's my starting weight. diet/exercise plan: eat green smoothies for breakfast, salads or raw food for lunch, snack on fruit, and eat a light SAD (standard american diet - but "healthy) for dinner. Exercise at least 5 days week in some form for at least 30 minutes, but shoot for more like an hour. today is day 1! I'll be weighing in every Sunday morning. Wish me luck folks!

  1. Good luck, Marci! I think I'll be at about the same starting point once my little man is out in July, so will be following your progress - and tips - with interest!

    I learnt something interesting about spinach from Nutrition Diva - http://nutritionovereasy.com/2011/03/can-you-eat-too-many-veggies/ - apparently, it can interfere with calcium absorption when eaten in large quantities. I'm not sure what exactly constitutes "large quantities", but it might be worth thinking about when making those smoothies. I trust Nutrition Diva because she's quite moderate.

  2. thanks Becca .. I'll keep that spinach tip in mind.. I do know I lean towards spinach as my green of choice most of the time. Good luck with the baby.. I can't believe he'll be here in July already!
